Liv Aanrud

Liv Aanrud constructs tactile paintings, slow stitched drawings, or labyrinthine tapestries using a traditional folk method of rag rug hooking. These pieces are physical meditations on sentimentality, labor, ethics, and other intangible concerns for a farm kid turned urban dweller. Liv earned her B.F.A from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and an M.F.A from Rutgers University. Her work has been shown throughout the United States, Germany, and recently, in Taiwan.
