Building Bridges, Connecting Neighbors: Everything You Want to Know About the Taylor Yard Pedestrian Bridge
Time & Location
About the Event
Join us for a "Happy Hour" Panel Discussion with the architects and engineers of the new Taylor Yard Pedestrian Bridge.
Get the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How as writer, editor and investigative journalist Rex Weiner moderates the discussion and gets the "411" on the new bridge dubbed "Rumblefish," which spans 400 feet, connecting Frogtown to Taylor Yard, a forty-two acre industrial parcel and former rail yard site at the center of the Los Angeles River revitalization plan.
This will be a fun and informal, informative discussion on the inspiration, design and construction of the bridge - touching on the background and rich cultural history of this part of the Los Angeles River.
Our panelists are:
Zoltan E. Pali, FAIA - Founder and Design Principal of SPF Architects
Siddhartha Majumdar - Senior Associate, AIA - SPF Architects
Deborah Weintraub - Chief Deputy City Engineer, Bureau of Engineering
Shirley Lau, Principal Civil Engineer - Bureau of Engineering - Bridge Improvement Division.
And...it wouldn't be Happy Hour without cocktails...our sponsor Hera the Dog Vodka have created a signature drink to toast the occasion. We'll send you the drink recipe (cocktail & mocktail) and the Zoom meeting link shortly after you RSVP.
We have a specialty cocktail drink kit available from Shots Box!
Our specialty cocktail for this event is called "The Aristocat" and proceeds from the sale of our drink kits will be donated to our friends LUXE Paws, who rescue cats in Elysian Valley and Northeast Los Angeles, further bridging our communities through animal welfare.
The Aristocat: This Apricot nectar cocktail is absolutely delicious! While it delivers a bright tartness, the mint ginger simple syrup adds a sweetness that is delicate and makes the entire cocktail incredibly smooth. Add to that candied ginger and dried apricots for garnishes and the complexity of flavors is pretty perfect. This kit includes enough to make 3 Aristocat cocktails with then plenty of Hera The Dog Vodka remaining for other at-home cocktails. Kit is $65.00 (L.A.area delivery only)
